‘True’ Strategic Planning comprises of a) Sales forecast b) Production Planning c) Materials Planning.
a) Sales Dept, based on market research of sales team, submits product wise sales forecast with specific terms and quality parameters as ordered by buyer.
b) Production dept. approves sales forecast considering available machinery and capacity so as to meet the delivery schedule. Production would interact with sales for altering sales forecast quantity and schedule considering available resources and situation and finalize sales forecast jointly.
c) Materials Planning: Materials Dept. would receive the final copy of sales order and would ensure smooth inward of raw materials, required for production, at the right time. ‘True’ provides for freezing the material that would be required as per production planning to avoid interruption in running production.
